Here’s what the Cinema Theatre in South Beach looked like in the early 1970s when it was being used for Yiddish theater and Vaudeville performances. The Cinema was originally the Casino Supper Club, then later converted into a film theater and became part of the Paramount Theatre chain.

Beginning in the early 1980s, the Cinema was the scene of some of Miami Beach’s top nightclubs such as Club Z, Club 1235, Deco’s, Passion, Paragon, Glam Slam, Level, and now Mansion operated by the Opium Group.

In December of 2016, 1235 Washington Avenue became Copa Room Show & Nightclub (link), an “all-inclusive” nightclub featuring live performances.
